FIRST-YEAR EXPERIENCE PROGRAM
The First Year Experience Program is designed to provide first year students with additional academic and social support to ensure a positive experience and success at OCAD.
Participants will be:
- Students who are the first in their families to pursue post-secondary education in Canada
- Students who may need academic and social support due to their unique circumstances
This initiative provides you with:
- More time with Faculty/TAs and staff through small-group learning communities within the core first year courses
- A transitional program in August to give you a head start for September
- Additional support for tests and examinations
- Opportunities to engage with upper year students
- Create a social network with fellow students outside the classroom
- Social events throughout the year
