MESSAGE FROM THE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT
A name change, degree granting status, expanded enrollment, the creation of the Digital Futures Initiative, the Aboriginal Studies Program, implementation of Graduate programs and the award winning Sharp Centre for Design are just a few examples of the exciting developments happening at OCAD University.
In 2010, OCAD marks 134 years of charting the direction for art and design education. Our $42.5 million expansion has increased our campus size by 40% in eight buildings in the McCaul and Dundas Street area. Our university has a proud legacy of graduates who have contributed significantly to global creative culture. There are over 15,000 graduates, and nearly 600 have returned to OCADU to convert their AOCA or AOCAD diploma into a Bachelor of Fine Art or Bachelor of Design.
Now is a great time to rekindle your connection with the OCAD University community by becoming actively involved with your Alumni Association.
Your Alumni Association is committed to:
- Encouraging and fostering the spirit of fellowship and unity among the members of the Association while promoting the well-being, prestige and excellence of the university
- Demonstrating and supporting an understanding of the function of the Association among the undergraduates of the university
- Providing resources, information and activities for its members in the belief that their educational experience with the university is not confined to their years as a student, but continues throughout their life
The mission of the Alumni Association is to provide a networking forum to engage and serve our community of artists and designers, to encourage and support affiliation and partnerships within our group, and to provide support for the university's staff and students
The Alumni Association Executive is your link to the exciting new events and trends at OCADU. We are committed to keeping you up to date regarding the accomplishments of our graduates. We want to know what you are doing, so be sure to Stay in Touch. Why not come out to a meeting and connect with your community?
Best Regards,
Maggie Broda, AOCA, BA, OCT.
