CAMPUS SECURITY
Information for New Students
OCADU ID: To obtain your OCAD University Photo ID Card, you must come to the Campus Services and Security Office located in Rm 2120, Level 1, 115 McCaul Street,, Rosalie Sharp Pavilion. You must be prepared to show one piece of government-issued photo ID and proof of your registration (print the page in My Records showing your registered courses or a copy of your tuition receipt).
Lockers: Locker rental (lock provided) is $15 for the fall/winter term. To rent a locker you must make your $15 payment at the Cashier Window located at 115 McCaul Street, Level 1 and bring your receipt along with photo ID to the Campus Services and Security Office, Rm 2120. All lockers must be cleared out at the end of the term.

Walk Safe Program
The OCAD University "Walk Safe" Program is intended to provide students, staff and faculty with a personal security escort. If you would like to arrange this service, please contact OCADU Campus Security at least 10 minutes prior to your departure and a member OCADU Security team will escort you to the Grange underground parking facilities or a nearby bus stop/subway station. The "Walk Safe" service is available during OCADU regular hours of operation. Simply dial ext. 366 from any white or office telephone on campus.

OCAD University Photo ID Cards
All students are required to have an OCAD University photo ID card. You must be able to present this ID card while on campus, if requested. Registered students can obtain ID cards in the Campus Services & Security offices, located in Rm 2120, Level 1 of the Rosalie Sharp Pavilion, 115 McCaul Street. Please, be advised that replacement OCADU Photo ID cards are subject to a fee of $20.00.
Fire Alarms
If you discover a fire leave the area immediately and activate the fire alarm from a safe place. Use any phone on campus to report the situation to security at extension: 366. If you hear the fire alarm, leave the building immediately and follow direction given by OCADU Security.
Emergency Phones
In an emergency, pick up a red phone to be immediately connected to Campus Security, or use any phone (excluding pay phones) on campus to contact Security at Ext. 511. A blue Emergency Phone, situated in Butterfield Park, will also connect you with Campus Security. To use the phone, press the button on the unit and communicate your situation through the intercom speaker. Pressing the button will activate the blue strobe light at the top of the unit. If safe to do so, please wait at the location for Campus Security to respond.
Non Emergency Phones
For all non emergency calls, use any phone on campus to contact Campus Security at Ext. 366. These phones can also be used to contact any staff, faculty member or department at the university.
Defibrillators on Campus
The OCAD University campus is equipped with Automated External Defibrillators (AED) for emergency response situations.
Defibrillators are located at:
- Dorothy H. Hoover Library: Annex Building, Level 2, 113 McCaul Street
- Security Console: Main Building, Lobby, 100 McCaul Street
- Campus Services & Security offices: Rm 2120, Level 1, 115 McCaul Street
- OCAD Student Centre: Elevators, Level 1, 51 McCaul Street
