CAREER PLANNING GUIDE
Career Services considers career preparation to be a four-year conversation, with specific topics to cover and master at each year level.
The Career Planning Guide will help you stay on track with a checklist of activities to complete each year. Get started now!
Second Year: Career Options
- Be the best student you can be!
- Continue your conversation with your Career Service Advisor
- Make another appointment with your Academic Advisor to ensure you're on track. Consider what you need for a minor, to be eligible for Mobility/Exchange or graduate school
- Explore your options in the world of work on the Career Resources website. Read descriptions about careers that interest you and determine the skills required to work in that field
- Continue to build your network. You should know four faculty, many of your peers and some professionals in your field
- Begin to develop a professional persona: learn where you fit, what you value about yourself and how you will answer the question: "Tell us a little bit about yourself"
